Despite the deployment of security counter-measures, complacency is dangerous and no system should be considered 100% secure.

It is widely acknowledged that 80% of all security breaches are carried out by staff within the company, who are able to bypass perimeter security measures. If a security breach is suffered it is essential to have a process in place to effectively manage the situation and investigate the source. It is often difficult and expensive to attract and retain experienced incident response professionals, particularly as they are not normally required full time. It is far more cost effective to use specialist support when needed and such support brings with it broader knowledge of current attack profiles and the appropriate remedial actions required. Shadow Planner - Incident Management

Shadow-Planner IM is a realtime communications centre for invoking a plan in time of crisis or testing a plan during normal operations.

The functions of the IM module will communicate directly with staff, via SMS, email, web notice boards etc, informing them on an individual basis as the incident evolves.

The crisis team are provided with real- time updates enabling prompt review of actions as required turning theoretical procedures into practice response.

The system records instructions and responses throughout, providing vital information for later analysis and feed-back, further improving Business Continuity Management within the organisation.
