email search and discovery solution that is optimized for a GroupWise
environment. Content Inspector offers an intuitive Web based interface
and comprehensive search, management, and workflow capabilities.
Content Inspector contains hierarchy-based permissions so the application
administrator has the ability to create two additional types of
users: investigation managers and reviewers. Administrators would
typically collect the messages from GroupWise, the investigation
manager would define the search criteria, and the reviewer would
view and process the results according to the objective of the investigation.
Key Attributes
With Content Inspector, email administrators
define an “investigation or matter discovery” workspace
and select what emails and attachments are gathered for this workspace.
The selected GroupWise items are full-text indexed for easy review.
Content Inspector scans the entire GroupWise
database, every folder in every mailbox including Inbox, Sent Items,
Calendar, and Notes. The application also replicates the exact GroupWise
folder structure. It contains a Root Directory for each Post Office,
a directory for each mailbox, and a subdirectory for each folder
containing message files, attachment files and other GroupWise objects,
like calendar items.
During the initial investigation set up process,
administrators and investigation managers define a set of messages
to be searched based on criteria such as mailbox ownership, date
range, keyword and status. Once an investigation is imported, investigation
managers and reviewers can audit message text and attachments by
either fulltext search or directory tree browsing.
Content Inspector’s built-in workflow management
allows investigation managers to change status and notate messages
as part of the initial selection process. Reviewers can then view
and print the results or export to .PST. All actions within the
application are tracked through Content Inspector’s auditing
tool set.
An Integral Part of Email Security and Management
Content Inspector is an integral part of an organization’s
overall email management
strategy. Content Inspector for GroupWise is workstation based and
not installed on
the GroupWise Post Office. It requires minimal training for implementation.
With GroupWise 6.5sp2, Content Inspector uses the trusted application
API to gain
secure access. It leverages the Object API to capture copies of
the mailbox items along with message properties which include opened,
read and forwarded status.
