Tideway Foundation's Application Mapping Engine can recognise over 2500 software elements from common hardware and software infrastructure vendors based on pre-populated fingerprints that reside in Foundation's Knowledge Library. In addition Foundation understands the software versions and corresponding lifecycle.

Tideway partners with infrastructure vendors to ensure that the Knowledge Library is always up-to-date and reflects the latest releases of vendor hardware and software.

Foundation's understanding of software lifecycle, provided out-of-the-box for common vendors, gives instant notification of where unpatched, end-of-life and unsupported software exists in the environment. This knowledge can be customised to reflect specific IT policies for out-of-the-box software versions, and to model lifecycle for in-house developed software.

Tideway continually enhances Foundation's Knowledge Library with the latest fingerprints and software lifecycle data, and is made available to all customers.

The Tideway Foundation appliance is designed from the ground up to provide high availability and performance. It includes RAID1 mirrored hot-swappable disks, dual Intel processors, dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and dual power supplies. Multiple appliances can be used for high availability and scalability.
